Father Cosmas’ Reflection
Celebrating Holy Week
As Holy Week begins, it’s a time for deep reflection on the significance of Jesus’s journey leading to the cross and resurrection.
On Palm Sunday, we commemorate Jesus’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem, where crowds welcomed him with palm branches, symbolizing victory and peace. This event marks a time of reflection on Jesus’s sacrifice and redemption. We reflect on the themes of sacrifice, redemption, and the ultimate victory of love over sin and death. It’s a time to examine our own lives, to consider where we stand in relation to our faith, and to renew our commitment to living out the teachings of Christ. Let us approach this week with humility, gratitude, and a willingness to walk alongside Jesus in his suffering, knowing that through his sacrifice, we find hope, forgiveness, and eternal life.
As we wave our palm branches today, let us also reflect on our own journey of faith and how we can follow Jesus’s example of humility, service, and love. Just as the crowds hailed Jesus as their king, let us too welcome him into our hearts and lives, ready to walk with him through the challenges and joys of this Holy Week and beyond. Amen
